Musical: Violet

This Musical hosted by the Rand Theater, is a performance surrounding the idea of healing, both physically and mentally. In her journeys, Violet meets a friend who helps her to better understand herself and find a connection with a world who has otherwise abandoned both of them.

Collaborative Piano and Voice Masterclass

Joshua Greene, the Music Director of the New York City Opera National Company will give a masterclass on December 1, 2012 at 4:00 pm. This knowledgable musician is offering this class at NO COST to students and other interested parties.

Fine Arts Center - Bezanson Recital Hall

Concert: Vocal Jazz Ensemble

This concert will feature a mix of contemporary and traditional a cappella. It will also use accompanied music with arrangements by several directors. I wouldn't miss a chance to catch this talent at UMass for the small fee of $3.00 as a UMass student, $5.00 for other students, and $10.00 for adults.

Community Class: Italian Literature with Nina Cannizzaro
This class will introduce two Italian authors who later became literary models in European prose and poetry: Giovanni Boccaccio and Francesco Petrarca.The opportunity to attend this class will be on Wednesdays at 5:00pm in the UMass Renaissance Center between the dates of October 3, 2012 and October 21. 2012.
This exhibition of work by Céleste Boursier-Mougenot merges the "realms of the musical and the visual," as said on the UMass website. The opportunity to view this exhibit at the University Museum of Contemporary Art, Main Gallery is as follows:

From October 15, 2012-November 2, 2012, Laurie LeBreton will have her artwork, including sculptures made of handmade paper, nontraditional books made with traditional binding techniques, and paper sculptures constructed on armatures, with saturated, vibrant colors, on display at the Student Union Art Gallery. Exhibit: "I Probably Shouldn't Be Telling You This"
"I Probably Shouldn't Be Telling You This" is an art exhibition by Linda Griggs that will take place from October 28, 2012 to November 29, 2012 at the UMass Amherst Hampden Gallery. Griggs' narrative art tells the unknown stories of everyday people making the text essential in the world of classical narrative art. 

“Pride and Passion: The African-American Baseball Experience,” is an exciting new traveling exhibition displayed on the Lower Level of Du Bois Library. It looks into the challenges faced by African-American baseball players as they sought equal opportunities in their sport. The Library is proudly sponsoring several free programs for the public in connection with the exhibition, including an opening reception on October 25 at 4:00 p.m. The Exhibit will be available for viewing between October 12, 2012 and December 7, 2012
